Biggleswade AC Welfare Policy

Biggleswade AC is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people to practise athletics.

Biggleswade AC does this by:

  • Recognising that the child’s welfare is paramount.
  • Ensuring participation in athletics takes place in an enjoyable and safe environment whatever their age,
  • culture, disability, gender, racial origin or religious belief.
  • Recognising that adults at Biggleswade AC have a duty of care to young athletes to protect them from bulling
  • and the pressure of training and competition.
  • Ensuring that our coaches are DBS checked.
  • Responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions and allegations of abuse, providing a Welfare Manager
  • for parents and children to voice any concerns they may have.
  • Ensuring that Biggleswade AC follows the Child Protection Policy.
Parents of young athletes must make arrangements for their child/children to travel safely to and from the training
sessions. They must ensure that their child/children arrives promptly at each session and is/are collected
immediately after training ends.
