BAC athletes claim club titles, PBs and event wins during the Sandy Open
BAC’s individual athletics champions for 2024 were decided during our Annual Club Championships which were incorporated with the recent Sandy Open Graded Track & Field Meeting.
Encouragingly for the future of the club, well over 30 of the 50 or championship titles competed for were won by some of the club’s fast-improving juniors – U-11s, U-13, U-15s and U-17s – in both track and field events.
Other notable achievements by the total of more than 30 BAC athletes among the 200 or so competitors who took part in that meeting, at our Sandy track on Saturday September 28, included over a dozen PBs and at least half a dozen event wins.
The Open also saw two longstanding Sandy stadium records broken by vising athletes. They were:
Lucy Earl (Corby) - women’s 400m, 56.21
Isabella Turner (Dacorum) - women’s pole vault, 3.71m

U-15G: Sureyya Akay (100m); Isla Anderson (200m); Lauren Bone (1500m)
