BAC athletes take medals at Eastern AA Championships

Last weekend several BAC athletes took part in the Eastern AA Championships over in Cambridge with medals up for grabs. Great performances by all and we are very proud of you all. Special mention to the following who got medals on the day:

Ryan Kennerly SM - Gold in both 100m and 200m

Leonie Brunning SW - Silver in long jump and javelin

Donncha Blake U20M - Silver in both pole vault and discus

Orlagh Brunning U17W - Silver in high jump and bronze in discus

Arlo Treece U20M - Silver in javelin

Hannah Brunning U20W - Silver in discus

Bradley Cant U15B - Bronze in discus

BAC athletes broke three club junior records at this year’s Eastern Athletic Association Track & Field Championships held on Saturday June 29 at the Cambridge University Track. The record breakers were:

* Lauren Bone in the U-15G 1500m with a time of 5.14.69 when finishing 4th in the final, nearly 8 seconds faster than the previous club record for that age group she set earlier this year. It was also only just over 7 seconds outside the club’s senior women record.

* Sureyya Akay in the U-15G 100m whose time of 12.81 to finish 5th in the final beat her own record of 12.9 from earlier this year. She also ran a new PB of 27.2 in a heat for the U-15G 200m.

* Nathania Lewis in the U-13G 100m whose time of 13.75 to finish 6th in the final beat the previous club age group record of 13.8 which had stood since 2000. She also achieved a new PB of 28.97 in a heat of the U-13G 200m.
