BAC runners compete at the inaugural 'Run the Wade'

BAC runners compete at the inaugural 'Run the Wade' 5km race around Biggleswade

Sunday 26th May saw the inaugural 'Run The Wade' 5K take place in and around Biggleswade town centre, with Biggleswade Athletic Club making sure to have a presence in this extremely local running race! Despite the cloudy skies and persistent rain everyone looked to be having a good run - hopefully spurred on by the other Biggleswade AC members out in a supporting role to cheer and shout words of encouragement to all running. You couldn't have missed us at the Jordan's Mill turn, for sure!

In terms of results for Biggleswade AC, there were a number of firsts. Congratulations to Ian Payne the first BAC'er to cross the finish line, and coming away with 3rd place overall and first Male V45 in a chip time of 18:31. Debs Bryant was first in the Female V55 category with a chip time of 23:18 and Stephen Atkins was first Male V70+ in 25:57. A  mention also for Sam Barton and Hannah Ridley who originally started out at Biggleswade AC were race male and female winners, respectively. It was a great atmosphere and well organised by Jones' Fitness and we look forward to next year 🏃‍♀️
