Biggleswade Summer Throws Fest − Sandy
The Throws Fest attracted a total of just on 100 entries from clubs all over East/South-East England across four disciplines – hammer, discus, javelin and shot put. Our throws fest have become increasingly popular over the last few years and demand is high. We are very grateful to all that come.
Special congratulations to Hannah Brunning who smashed her personal bests in both discus and hammer throw with distances of 37.89m and 37.31m.
Two BAC Juniors produced notable performances during the club’s Summer Throws Fest at our Sandy Track on Saturday August 23.
Oran Blake broke the club record for the U-17M hammer (5kg) again with a throw of 47.25m, beating his own previous record set earlier this season by over a metre. He has improved his PB for the hammer by nearly 15m so far this year and is now ranked 4th in the East of England region for U-17M hammer. Bradley Cant achieved a new PB in the U-15B javelin (600g) with a throw of 35.23m.
