Four Juniors achieve top 20 finishes at the Eastern XC Championships

Four Juniors flew the flag for BAC at the Eastern Athletic Association’s 2024 Cross Country Championships in Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on Saturday November 16.

All four put in very creditable performances against competitors from all over the Eastern region, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Two achieved top 10 finishes and the other two finished in the first 20 in their respective races.

Lauren Bone was the club’s highest-placed runner on the day, putting in another very good composed performance to finish 9th of 24 starters in the U-15G race.

In the U-15B race, Oliver Weddell and Sidney Hammond again looked very strong, with Ollie finishing 10th and Sid 13th (in the same time as the 12th placed finisher who he almost pipped on the line) in a field of 37.

Ross Bone came 19th of 29 starters in the U-13B race after putting in a very determined finish to hold off another runner closing on him at the finish line.
