Oran sets new pole vault PB at Bedford indoor event
Biggleswade AC’s male pole vaulters were in good form at the Bedford Christmas Indoor Invitational held in Bedford on Sunday December 21. Oran Blake achieved a new PB in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.82m and brother Donncha won the event!
Oran’s previous pole vault PB, set outdoors in August this year, was 2.55m. His clearance at Bedford was just high enough to give him a Power of 10 2025 ranking for the East of England U20 men’s pole vault (the region’s qualification standard for a ranking is 2.80m).
Donncha, who is ranked number 1 in the East for the U20 men’s pole vault and number 9 in that age group for the overall UK in 2025 with a best clearance of 4.45m, won the Bedford event with a clearance of 4.22m.
