The annual Cambridge Half Marathon took place on Sunday 9th March and Biggleswade AC had a number of members participating. This is a popular half marathon, with the scenic course taking runners by iconic University buildings and other recognisable City landmarks. Starting at Midsummer Common, the route is along closed roads and pretty flat to offer PB opportunity. There is also plenty of support from the amassed crowds, which is always welcome!
First to cross the finish line for BAC was Nicholas Sinclair who ran a superb 1:23:02 and bagging a well-deserved PB. Rosanna Bartlett was the first BAC female home, also with a fantastic time of 1:31:41. And BAC member James Watson who was running on behalf of charity www.petalscharity.org, crossed the line not far behind in 1:33:52. Also out representing the Club were Abbie Higgins, Alistair Nelson, Nick McGlashan, Amy Robinson and Stuart Highland - huge congratulations to all.

In other Half Marathon news, Club member Richard Hill ran the Dartford Half earlier in the month. This was a particularly hilly, challenging course but despite this Richard ran a PB achieving 1:42:36 - Richard's recent training and preparation in the lead up to April's London Marathon undoubtedly contributing. We wish Richard all the very best next month!
