Biggleswade AC once again took on the Round Norfolk Relay (RNR) challenge this weekend. This is the 18th time for the Club in this rather unique event which sees around 60 teams running the Norfolk border broken down into 17 stages starting and finishing at Lynnsport in King's Lynn. The Relay commenced early Saturday morning with Neil Harvey taking on the first stage of just under 17 miles to Hunstanton for Biggleswade. The baton proceeded to travel around Norfolk throughout Saturday and into the night, finally reaching King's Lynn again Sunday morning with Ian Grimwood running the last 11 miles from Stowbridge. Biggleswade finished the 201-mile course in a total time of 28 hours 16 minutes, with superb times logged by all. Particular congratulations to Will Ramsey, Paul Swinburne and Roxann Holder running the event for the first time and to Juliet Grimwood and Paul Davies on receiving their 10 appearances medals.
A huge thank you to everyone who ran and supported, especially those accompanying the runners with cycling and night car duties and to the BAC RNR Committee for team planning. A special mention also for Club member Damien Pitts who did a sterling job timekeeping and overseeing BAC team coordination.
