Two of the three BAC Juniors who took part in the South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) U-13/U-15/U-17 Individual Championships at Walton, Surrey, over the weekend of August 10/11 achieved new PBs.

The meeting attracted a total of nearly 1,170 entries so the standard of competition was generally very high, which made getting through heats in the track events a tough challenge.

Oliver Weddell ran well in his heat of the U-15 Boys 1500m to knock 3.5 seconds of his previous PB for the distance and set a new best time of 4.45.99. However, his 8th place finish (of 11 competitors) in that race was not enough to get him into the final.

There were no heats in the U-15 Girls 1500m so Lauren Bone went straight into the final where she finished 17th in a time of 5.25.72.

Ross Bone had another fine afternoon in the U-13 Boys javelin event, breaking the 30-metre barrier for the first time and notching up a new PB for the second successive weekend. His new PB of 30.08m was enough to secure 7th place in that event.
